While the letter of Paul is addressed to the Ephesians in Ephesus where he stayed for several years before moving on for the continuation of his missions in building up the church in different cities and towns it does not address the issues in the Church in Ephesus alone in Asia Minor but for the worldwide church the head of which is Christ. He emphasized the unity of the church of God for both the Jews and the Gentiles. (1, 15- 2, 22 especially 2, 11-22) the "seven unities" of the church, Spirit, hope, one Lord, faith, baptism, and the one God. (4,4-6)
The Letter was composed sometime in the year 61-63 AD apparently while Paul was in prison in Rome leading to his death between 64-67 AD.
